Ferry vs HZMB bridge — which should you choose?

The ferry (TurboJet or Cotai Water Jet) takes around 55–65 minutes and runs 24 hours with late-night sailings. It's the most popular choice because it drops you either at the Outer Harbour Terminal (close to the historic peninsula) or at Taipa (for Cotai Strip resorts). Book online 1–3 days ahead during weekends and public holidays.

The HZMB bridge bus is significantly cheaper (HKD 65–85 vs 175–220+) but adds border formalities at both ends and drops you at Macau Border Gate — you'll then need a casino shuttle or taxi to reach your hotel. Best for budget travelers or those coming directly from Hong Kong airport without passing through HK immigration.

Practical note: during typhoon warnings Signal 8+, ferries are suspended. Always check the Hong Kong Observatory and have a bridge bus as backup.
